Bridal Studio Collaboration with Kristine Campbell and Lens and Nest Part 1
Since Moxie and Mine was founded in March 2022, community collaborations have been part of the foundation of this business. Working with wedding vendors in the community not only introduces us to new people and opportunities, but it gives us insight into what is going on in the wedding world in real-time.
It allows us to see how these vendors work, how they treat their clients, and what the work looks like coming out of it all. We are proud to get to connect brides with recommended vendors, and this brand collaboration that we shot in studio was no exception.
I first met Kristine Campbell of K Campbell Photography at our Grand Opening Party for the new Bridal Loft location earlier this year in March 2024. It had been a long time coming. Kristine and I had messaged on instagram a few times with some creative ideas we wanted to bring to life. Work got busy, and we didn't reconnect again until the loft party. Once she saw the loft, she knew she wanted to shoot there. The natural life, old world heritage charm, and all the pretty gowns! But who would model for us!? We often have an inbox FULL of people wanting to model bridal for us — but for this collaboration we wanted to get the casting right. Most importantly, we wanted to work with another creative. This is where Riley comes in! Riley was actually at our grand opening event as the photographer and when Kristine met her, she knew she loved her style, creativity and personality.
Riley encapsules so much that Moxie and Mine is. She is passionate about sustainability and chooses a vegan lifestyle. She is a creative entrepreneur and wedding + brand photographer. Don’t forget to check her photography out too here. We knew working with Riley on this project would be a good fit immediately!
Kristine decided to reach out to Tiffany from Lens and Nest, too, to bring her on as another photographer for the day. Kristine and Tiffany often second shoot weddings for and with each other. They both love the idea of them working creatively alongside each other as a team, so that if one misses a detail; the other will catch it.
Tiffany has photographed weddings with several Moxie and Mine brides, so I couldn’t wait to finally meet her in person.
THE VISION: our collective vision for this shoot was “lets just put a few creatives in a room together and make magic happen.” With the hustle and bustle of every day work as a business owner and bridal stylist (and everything in between that the business needs) I don’t always get to play creatively (even though I am proud to say I get to do it QUITE often). This shoot was mainly for the photographers to have a chance to break out of the real life weddings and do some experimentation.
The photos speak for themselves! I think our collective creativity really shines through, and although I was often in the other room during this shoot caring for my youngest daughter that day, I think we really pulled it off.
Let us know your favouture look in the comments and if you’d like to see more “simple” collaborations like this! We hope it provides our brides, both local Kingston brides and online followers and admirers alike some much needed wedding inspiration! It was so cool seeing the creative work that came out of this and how uniquely different each photographers work was at the same shoot working in real time together!
We will be posting this blog article in 2 parts! One featuring each photographers work. Below you will find Kristine’s images from the shoot, stay tuned for Tiffany’s! We will be sharing photos of each dress featured in this shoot over the next few weeks! Today’s post specifically features the Monique gown by Marina Hardwick (size 10 bridal) View Monique Gown Here
